Company Management

Mr. Netzer was appointed by the Board of Directors as President and Chief Executive Officer in July 2009, having previously served as an external director on the Board. Between 2000 and 2007, he was managing director of Palram Industries Ltd., a public company traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, and from 1998 to 2000, was managing director of SMS, a private company producing plastic products for world markets. Prior to this he was president of Suntuf, Inc. (1993-1997), a U.S. based company that established the Palram Paltough marketing and distribution networks in North and South America. Mr. Netzer holds a BSc in industry and administrative engineering from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa and an MS degree in public policy from Tel Aviv University.

Mr. Moshe has been our Chief Financial Officer since July 2006, and from the start of 2012 has also been acting as our Senior Executive VP. Prior to this position he served as our Vice President of Finance, a position he held since March 2005. He served from 2001 to 2005 as the Chief Financial Officer of Comsec Ltd., an Israeli public company that is listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, and worked as a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young Israel from 1996 to 2000. Mr. Moshe holds a BA in accounting and management from the College of Management in Tel-Aviv, he is a certified public accountant in Israel, and holds an MA in law from Bar-Ilan University in Ramat-Gan.

Dr. Carmon has been with Shamir for thirteen years. During this time, as part of the R&D team, he played an important role in many of Shamir’s technological advances, including Shamir’s proprietary Freeform software - Prescriptor, the development of Shamir’s Freeform lens families, and development of software for the analysis and optimization of lenses. Dr. Carmon holds a PhD in physics and is currently in an executive MBA program to be completed in August 2013.

Mr. Regev took on the position of Shamir's CFO in April 2013, having served as Corporate Finance Manager since 2007 when he first joined Shamir. Prior to that he held a senior position in leading accounting firm, KPMG Israel. Mr. Regev, a certified public accountant in Israel, holds a BA in accounting and economics from the University of Haifa, and an MBA from Tel Aviv University.

Mr. Avishai is responsible for business development throughout the Asian region, with a focus on India, China, Australia and New Zealand. During the 15 years that he has been with Shamir, Mr. Avishai served as VP Sales since 2009, and VP Marketing from 2003 to 2009. Prior to joining Shamir in 1997, he served as finance manager for Kibbutz Shamir, a post which he held for three years. He is a director at Shalag Industries Ltd. Mr. Avishai holds a BA in management and economics from the Ruppin Academic Center (Israel).

Mr. Michael joined Shamir in November 2009 taking on the positions of Vice President Marketing and General Manager for Shamir Europe. He previously served as Vice President Marketing at Palram Industry Ltd. (2001-2006), and as Palram's Vice President, Business Development. Mr. Michael holds a BA in economics and psychology and an MBA from the University of Haifa (Israel).

Mr. Hagai was appointed Vice President of Operations in September 2010. He began his career with  Shamir as an engineer in Shamir Eyal Ltd. in April 2003 and served in several positions in that subsidiary until his last position there as Plant Manager. Mr. Hagai holds a BSc in polymers engineering from Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, Ramat-Gan.

Mr. van der Veen joined Shamir in 1992. He has held the position of Vice President Business Development since September 2009, and is currently focused on business development in the Americas, North and South. Prior to that, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Shamir Insight, USA. Mr. van der Veen holds a BA in business and marketing from Maryland University (USA).

Having joined Shamir in 2001, Mr. Sisso served as International Business Manager since 2007, a position which gave him responsibility for Shamir's subsidiaries in South Africa, Australia, Thailand  and Mexico. His position is currently focusing on North and South America. Previously, he served as Chairman of Business Development for Kibbutz Eyal and Chairman of Shamir Insight, USA (2001-2007). Mr. Sisso holds a BA in economics from Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an MBA from Bar Ilan University (Israel).

Mr. Di Segni joined Shamir in September 2011 as our General Counsel, and provides us with ongoing in-house legal advice. Mr. Di Segni holds an LL.B and a B.A. in Business Administration from the Tel Aviv University (Israel), and has formerly served as an associate attorney with S. Horowitz & Co. (2006-2008) and as in-house legal counsel at Iscar Ltd/IMC Group (a metal cutting tool company based in Tefen, Israel) (2008-2011).

Mr. Spiegler began his career with Shamir in 1999 as Mineral Plant Manager (SOI). Since joining the Marketing Department in 2003, he has held several positions, among them South Africa Account Manager and FreeForm Account Manager. He was part of the team that establish the SSOP Lab in 2006, served as Marketing Manager, Shamir Israel until 2011, and then served as Product Manager until taking on his current position. Before joining Shamir, Mr. Spiegler served a three-year term as community manager of Kibbutz Shamir.

Mr. Krausz has joined our Company in 2012 and serves as our Chief Information Officer. Mr. Krausz has a BSc degree in information systems engineering from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa. Prior to this position he served as the CIO of Tower Semiconductor LTD in Migdal Ha’emek (a Semiconductor Manufacturing company), CIO of Lumenis LTD in Yokneam (a Medical Devices company), VP of Malam North in Haifa (an IT Services company), and other private enterprises.

Mr. Naftalovich has been Chief Executive Officer of Shamir Insight since 2005. Prior to this he worked with Shamir,  Shamir Insight, and Shamir Eyal, in various positions including Marketing Vice President ( Shamir Insight, 1997-2005), Product Manager, Marketing Director, and International Regional Export Manager for both Shamir and Shamir Eyal (1994-1997). Mr. Naftalovich holds a BA in business administration from the College of Management, Tel Aviv.

Mr. Latzer joined Shamir in 1990 as chief executive officer of Shamir USA, a position which he has held ever since. Mr. Ltazer holds a BA in political science from the University of Haifa, an MBA from Northrup University in California, and post graduate certification in international marketing from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
